Fast-Drying Medium for Oil Painting
Winsor & Newton Liquin Original improves the flow of oil colours while speeding drying, making it a useful choice for artists working in layers. Its gel-like consistency mixes into colour for smoother brushwork, increased transparency and added gloss.
Key Benefits
- Speeds drying, with colours typically becoming touch-dry in 1–6 days depending on the colour and paint-film thickness.
- Reduces viscosity to help oil colour move more freely under the brush.
- Increases transparency for glazing and layered colour.
- Improves gloss and resists yellowing.
Compatibility and Use
For use with Winsor & Newton Artists' Oil Colour, Winton Oil Colour and Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Oil Colour. Add sparingly to your colour and follow the product label directions.
Not suitable as a varnish or final coat. Touch-dry paint is not necessarily fully cured.
Prefer a more fluid medium for fine lines and delicate glazing? Compare options in our Winsor & Newton Oil Paint Mediums collection.
