Winsor & Newton Distilled Turpentine
Description
Description
Distilled Turpentine is a natural solvent extracted from pine tree resin and has long been a traditional choice among artists and artisans. This versatile substance is incredibly effective for cleaning brushes and can be crafted into custom painting mediums. Its powerful solvent properties enable it to penetrate and dissolve even the most stubborn remnants of dried oil, alkyd, and acrylic paints from brushes and other painting tools.
Additionally, Distilled Turpentine excels at removing varnishes, including the notably resilient Dammar Varnish, making it an essential resource for preparing surfaces for re-varnishing. However, avoid using it if the turpentine has thickened, as this can compromise its effectiveness.
Tip: Use distilled turpentine for cleaning with caution. This solvent is the strongest and most hazardous thin available, so handle it responsibly and dispose of it properly. Always prioritize safety when working with this powerful substance.
