Winsor & Newton uses only premium pigments, known for their brilliance, permanence, and vividness, and offers a broad selection of single-pigment colours.
With 85 of these being single-pigment, they offer the widest range of modern and traditional pigments for clear, precise colour mixing. The watercolours achieve unsurpassed transparency through a special pigment dispersion process during manufacturing.
The inherent transparency of each pigment determines the paint’s clarity, especially in thin washes that let the white paper show through.
Regarding permanence, 112 of our 116 colours are rated as "permanent for artists' use,” with AA or A ratings for archival quality, ensuring consistent appearance for future generations.
