Description
Description
Professional Relief Ink is a premium water-miscible, oil-based ink formulated with the finest lightfast pigments, delivering vibrant, long-lasting colours without added fillers. This versatile ink is ideal for various relief printing techniques, especially linocut and woodcut, offering smooth application and excellent transfer. Cleanup is a breeze—use soap and water or window cleaner to remove any residue, making it a practical choice for artists who value both quality and convenience.
Speedball offers four primary types of block printing inks: Water-Soluble, Fabric, Professional Relief, and Oil-Based. Water-Soluble inks are suitable for printing on paper for beginners and experienced users. Fabric inks are intended for fabric printing and do not need heat setting. Professional Relief inks feature a single pigment formulation and are designed specifically for paper use. Oil-Based inks have a traditional formulation and require solvents or vegetable oils for cleanup.
Speedball block printing inks are typically good for 2 years after manufacturing, but with proper storage and care, their shelf life can extend significantly.
Adding water to alter the inks is not recommended. Instead, we offer a range of ink modifiers that let you customize the ink to your project requirements.
Mix inks to create custom colours. You can blend our inks to produce new shades, but it's best to stay within the same line. For example, avoid mixing water-soluble inks with fabric inks, as this could change the ink's properties.
To clean up after using Speedball block printing inks, including Water-Soluble, Fabric, and Professional Relief inks, use soap and water. For Speedball Oil-Based inks, effective cleaning requires a solvent or vegetable oil.
