Description
Description
Neocolor II Aquarelle Artists’ Crayons, made in Switzerland, are known for their high pigment concentration, high quality, excellent lightfastness, and versatility across techniques. These crayons are softer than coloured pencils, denser than children’s wax crayons, and respond well to wet brushes. They allow for blending wet and dry methods within the same artwork. Thanks to their intense pigmentation, light shades can easily overlay dark ones, and vice versa. Neocolors II can be smudged with fingertips but are firmer than oil pastels. They also allow for scraping layers to create a sgraffito effect and can be combined with Caran d’Ache Pablo Coloured Pencils. Plus, they are water-soluble.
Each Neocolor II Crayon measures approximately 105 mm in length and 10 mm in diameter (4-1/8" × 5/16"), and the full line is available in 84 luminous colours.
Introduced in 1972, these wax pastels exemplify Maison Caran d’Ache’s innovation, offering endless creative possibilities for artists and beginners alike. They can be used for various techniques, including dry or wet drawing, monotypes, impregnation, glazing, and rainbow gradation. The entire range inspires limitless imagination, enabling even seasoned artists to rediscover childlike wonder and pure creative energy through its vibrant colours.
