Introduced by Caran d'Ache in 1972, NEOCOLOR II Aquarelle Artists’ Crayons represent a landmark innovation in water-soluble drawing media. Made in Switzerland, they combine the richness of a wax pastel with the fluidity of watercolour — dry marks dissolve instantly with a wet brush to produce smooth washes and luminous gradients. Available in 84 colours.

NEOCOLOR II crayons are softer than coloured pencils and firmer than oil pastels, with a density that responds beautifully to both dry and wet techniques. Their intense pigmentation allows light shades to overlay dark ones and vice versa. They can be smudged with fingertips, scraped for sgraffito effects, and combined with Caran d’Ache Pablo Coloured Pencils for mixed-media work.

Each crayon measures approximately 105 mm × 10 mm (4‘1/8” × 5/16”).
