Description

Artisan Matt Varnish for Oil Paintings

Finish your oil painting with a low-sheen surface using Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Matt Varnish. This UV-resistant final varnish helps protect the paint surface from dirt and grease while providing a matt finish.

A removable matt finish

Choose it when you prefer a matt surface rather than the shine of a gloss varnish. It is suitable as a final treatment for Artisan and conventional oil paintings, and can be removed with Artisan Water Mixable Varnish Remover when re-varnishing is needed.

Matt finish for completed oil paintings.
UV-resistant protective coating.
Helps resist dirt and grease.
Removable with Artisan Varnish Remover.
Suitable for Artisan and conventional oil paintings.
Available in 75 ml and 250 ml bottles.

Allow your painting to dry fully

The product guidance recommends allowing 6–12 months before varnishing. Drying time varies with paint thickness and conditions, so ensure your painting is thoroughly dry. Shake well before use, following the label directions. Use only as a final varnish, not as a medium mixed into paint. Follow the label for preparation, application, handling and cleanup.
