SpectraFix InstaGrit is a brush-on medium that restores tooth and traction to overworked areas of your artwork — without adding visible texture. It dries clear and matte, creating an invisible receptive film that picks up colour immediately, allowing you to continue layering coloured pencils, pastels, or graphite where the surface has become too smooth to hold more media.

How to use:

• Stir thoroughly to incorporate grit sediment before use
• Apply with a brush to specific areas or across the full surface
• Allow to dry, then continue layering with your chosen medium
• Layer and seal with Natural Glass Varnish for complex, intricate finishes

Compatible media:

• Soft and oil pastels, coloured pencils, graphite, charcoal
• Watercolour, gouache, casein, ink, wax paints, encaustic
• Under oil or acrylic paints to prevent underdrawing smudges
• Not suitable as a final top coat over acrylic or oil paint

Compatible surfaces:

• All paper types (excluding LaCarte), Yupo, primed or unprimed canvas, wood panels, unglazed ceramic, stone, leather, glass, and more
