Gamblin Gamsol — The Safest Solvent for Oil Painters
Gamsol is Gamblin’s odourless mineral spirits — a highly refined solvent with less than 0.005% aromatic solvents remaining after processing. It performs like a traditional solvent without the health risks, making it the go-to choice for studio and classroom use.
Primary Uses
- Thinning oil colours — a small amount softens even the stiffest paint. Use sparingly to avoid weakening the paint film.
- Adjusting Galkyd mediums — compatible with all Galkyd alkyd mediums. Not recommended with natural resin mediums like dammar or mastic.
- Studio cleanup — cleans brushes, palettes, palette knives, and tools efficiently.
- Blending coloured pencils — a gentle solvent for coloured pencil blending techniques.
