Description

Artisan Satin Varnish for Oil Paintings

Give your completed oil painting a soft satin sheen with Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Satin Varnish. This UV-resistant final varnish helps protect the paint surface from dirt and grease while evening out variations in sheen.

A finish between matt and gloss

Choose satin when you want a gentle sheen rather than a matt surface or a high-gloss finish. The varnish is removable with Artisan Water Mixable Varnish Remover when re-varnishing is needed.

Satin finish for completed oil paintings.
UV-resistant protective coating.
Helps resist dirt and grease.
Helps even out surface sheen.

Apply only after the painting has fully dried

Allow the painting to dry thoroughly before varnishing. The product guidance recommends 6–12 months; drying time varies with paint thickness and conditions. Shake well before use, following the label directions.

Use as a final varnish, not as a medium mixed into paint. Follow the product label for preparation, application, handling and cleanup.
