Derwent Lightfast Pencils keep your artwork vibrant and unfading for up to a century. These oil-based pencils produce rich, creamy colours. Designed for 100% lightfastness, their cores resist fading and retain their hue under museum-like conditions for 100 years. All shades comply with the ASTM D6901 and Blue Wool Scale ISO 105 standards for lightfastness.
The oil-based core provides a smooth, velvety feel, making blending easy—either on paper or with a brush on canvas for a painterly look. Ideal for detailed drawing and layering, they allow darker shades to overlay lighter ones, creating sharp negative spaces. Their opacity works well on coloured papers. With the broadest colour range among lightfast pencils, Derwent Lightfast features a specially formulated oil-based core, with a sturdy 4mm thickness.
