Description: Pro Art Large Elephant Ear Natural Sponge
For centuries, Sea Sponges have been enjoyed by multidisciplinary artists as the tool of choice for adding unique beauty and texture to artwork in a variety of medium. Great painters like Da Vinci used sea sponges on some of their most famous paintings. Whether you are a professional artist, a hobbyist, or just love arts and crafts, we know youandrsquo;ll enjoy the versatility and quality the natural sea sponges have to offer. Sea Sponges are 100% natural, safe, and durable, and have an endless number of artistic and practical uses, making them an ideal and affordable choice for every artist. Use: Water Colour Painting, Pottery, Ceramics, Sculpting, Auto Detailing, Face Painting, Craft Projects, Tool Cleaning, Staining andamp; Glazing, Jewelry Cleaning, Shoe Shining or as Wall Art. Natural Sea Sponges are also biodegradable and earth friendly. And like all sponges, they are always sustainably and renewably harvested to ensure that the base of the sponge is left intact, allowing the original sponges to grow back fuller and stronger than before. Every Sea Sponge variety pack contains andldquo;paint gradeandrdquo; quality sponges, in various size, each varying in shape, colour, and texture, to suit each of your artistic, crafting, and detailing needs. Before using your sea sponge, youandrsquo;ll want to squeeze it under warm water to soften. Sea sponges are stiff when dry, but become very soft when wet. To extend the life of your sponge: Soak a cleaning or bathing sea sponge for 15 minutes every few weeks in 1 cup of warm water and 1 Tablespoon of baking soda (increase solution accordingly for large sponges). Then rinse and let dry (preferably in a hanging, breathable mesh bag). In addition to thoroughly cleaning the sponge, baking soda revitalizes its cellular structure for increased durability. Allow sponges to dry completely after each use. Sea sponges naturally inhibit the growth of bacteria, but do not prevent it. To disinfect your sponge, you can also soak it in: 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1 cup of water. This will clean and re-bleach the sponge if it becomes discoloured from use. If a sponge starts to become ragged, use scissors to trim off the loose pieces rather than pulling them off. Trimming the sponge to keep it smooth will enable you to get more use out of it. Sea Mineral Colouration Notice a red-orange tint on the bottom of your sponge? All sponges from the sea are rich in sea minerals that your body loves, including sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, and so much more! Some sponges, but not all, will have sea mineral colouration as a result. The Sea Sponges are a natural by product in our environment, and does not harm the environment in any way.
How to Care for Your Sea Sponge
A few drops of tea tree essential oil in 1 cup of warm water. Tea tree essential oil is a very effective germicide and will also eliminate any odour on your sponge.
1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar in 1 cup of warm water.
1 teaspoon colloidal silver in 1 cup of warm water. There is no pathogenic organism known that is not killed by colloidal silver in 6 minutes or less.
Never place a sea sponge in boiling water, microwave, or dryer. This will harden your sponge. Never use strong bleach. This will weaken your sponge. Squeeze but do not twist or pull your sponge.
