382 ULTRAMARINE BLUE (RED SHADE)

A single pigment rich transparent blue with red undertones. Allegedly named because it was thought 'bluer than the sea', ultramarine was initially made from semi-precious lapis lazuli. French chemist Guimet created the current pigment in 1828 as a synthetic, but chemically-identical alternative.

Heavy Body Artist Acrylic Paint has a thick consistency for traditional art techniques using brushes or knives, as well as experimental, mixed media, collage, and printmaking applications. Impasto applications retain crisp brush strokes and knife marks. Good surface drag provides excellent handling and blending characteristics with increased open-working time. High pigment load produces rich, brilliant, permanent colour.
