Before painting, you must staple or mount the canvas sheets to a hardboard surface.
It is versatile and durable. It will not tear like paper, and you can lightly lift out pigment or thoroughly wash out your painting surface without damaging the canvas surface—10 Sheets Per Pad. These canvas pads are portable for travel, workshops, and Plein-air painting! Perfect for stretching over stretcher bars, mounting for display or matting and framing under glass.
These ARTIST SERIES archival quality canvas sheets are double-primed with an acid-free acrylic titanium gesso.
WHAT IS WATERCOLOUR CANVAS?
Fredrix watercolour canvas is an authentic 100% woven cotton artist canvas with a special coating that performs similarly to a cold press or rough watercolour paper yet provides a distinctive look that can only be achieved on canvas. It will not tear like paper, and you can lightly lift out pigment or thoroughly wash out your painting surface without damaging the canvas surface.
WATERCOLOUR CANVAS TIPS
Ten minutes before you paint, wipe down (firmly) the entire surface of the canvas with a very wet cloth. This will allow for a more spontaneous paint transfer to the canvas.
If painting loose, staple/adhere the canvas to a hardboard such as Gatorboard, foam core or plywood before painting to keep them from buckling.
