A classic white paper used by artists for centuries, this naturally warm white paper is achieved without using optical brighteners. Papers are synthetically sized internally and externally so that no animal by-products are used.
Fabriano's Artistico papers are mould-made of 100% cotton and are acid-free/pH neutral and chlorine-free. Sheets have two natural deckled edges and two cut edges.

Fabriano's paper mill has been making fine art papers since 1264. Fabriano pioneered many processes standard in paper making today, including paper sizing. Today's new vegan sizing allows for internal and external sizing without animal by-products (potato starch). This sizing modification will please all watercolourists because of the control and lifting capabilities the new sizing gives.
All four paper edges are deckled, perfect for artists who like to frame finished work. Fabriano Artistico's 100% cotton rag watercolour papers are mould-made. The moulded paper technique creates a more consistent paper surface that allows for even water absorption. As a result, the paper is more robust and can withstand scrubbing and erasing.

Cold Press (sometimes called “Not Press") offers a lovely slight texture and tooth that beautifully grips pigment created from pressing the finished paper between cold cylinders. Overall, it is the most popular watercolour press.
Hot Press - provides a smooth, flat, even surface produced by being run through hot cylinders. Perfect for multimedia drawings and paintings with all water media.
Soft Press is a unique surface that only Fabriano makes. It is a press between Cold and Hot, providing just enough texture for grip and is considered almost spongy in feel. As a result, it is a favourite with printmakers. It is the perfect surface for beginner watercolourists who have not quite mastered the effects of Cold Press (available in Extra White).
