Calypso Green has a shimmery, pale almost minty green cast with a gold interference colour. The opal series are not meant to be used for mixing as this will affect the translucency and interference attributes of these paints. The pigment particles are heavy and will settle easily, so make sure to stir the opals to get good pigment distribution. We like to think of the Opals as finishing touches, as they impart a jewel like effect. When painted over other light colours the effects are subtle, but when painted over darks, the metallic and interference properties will be more pronounced. Opal Calypso Green is another huge favorite amongst artists and is a unique colour to Enkaustikos.

Each Wax Snap measures approximately 1-1/4” long x 4” wide and 1/2” thick.
This unique shape allows you to use the whole bar or break off a section with a simple snap. Available in all 88 colours including Graphite, and our three wax mediums: original Wax Medium, XD Wax Medium, and Natural Yellow Wax Medium. Wax Snaps are great for printmaking techniques, direct melting on a hot palette or snapping off a section to refill a Hot Cakes® tin. They are also ideal for the workshop and classroom setting, where you can easily snap, dispense, and share.
