Canson Art Boards provide artists with a stiff, firm working surface with Canson and Arches quality paper on top. It's an exciting innovation to add performance to our most popular papers.
Various boards are available for media and techniques, from illustration and comic art to drawing, watercolour and pastel. Each board is as rugged as it is beautifully created to withstand the rigours of repeated watercolour washes or the pressure of building up pastels.

No Mounting is Required!
Canson® Art Boards are ready for framing without mounting, eliminating a step and the added expense. The art finished on acid-free paper is displayed and protected on a two-ply, 1.2 mm archival Canson® conservation board, making self-preservation simple. Buffered, without optical brighteners, and treated to resist mould, the board complies with ISO 9706, the standard for permanent paper.
Arches® Watercolour Art Boards — The ultimate choice for watercolour, gouache or ink washes. It features a natural white, handmade French paper in Cold Press, Hot Press, or Rough surface textures. Cold Press 65 points: Hot Press 60 points: Rough 65 points. 185gsm.
Black Drawing Art Boards — These boards provide a dramatic surface for pencil, chalk, and gouache. The very finely textured surface paper is acid-free and highly resistant to light and fading. 60 point: 150gsm.
Bristol Plate Art Board — Provides an ideal foundation for pen-and-ink renderings, technical drawings, or work in hard pencil. It has a rich, natural white surface is hard enough to support detailed work. 60 point: 130gsm.
C à grain® Drawing Art Boards — C' à Grain® Art Board provides a luxurious surface with a pronounced texture for drawing that stands up to repeated erasing and reworking. It is ideal for charcoal, Conté crayon, pastels or very soft pencil. 180gsm.
Canson® Edition Art Boards — Versatile Canson® Edition Art Boards provide a substantial textured surface that is excellent for drawing and multi-media expression. Available in either Vanilla or White. 65 point: 250gsm.
Montval® Watercolour Art Boards — Excellent substrate for watercolour, acrylic, gouache, or ink washes. Montval art board features natural white French watercolour paper with a cold press surface. 65 point: 185gsm.
Pure White Drawing Art Boards — Pure White Art Boards offer a luminous white, fine textured surface perfect for detailed work in pen, pencil or coloured pencil. This sturdy substrate is also erasable. 60 point: 130gsm.
Illustration Art Boards - These ultra-smooth boards provide a brilliant foundation for ink, marker, felt-tip pen and pencil that stands up to erasing and scraping. Made without optical brighteners, the boards are extra white for superior contrast. 65 point: 130gsm.
