Art Spectrum Colourfix Coated Pastel Paper Open Stock

Art Spectrum Colourfix Coated (fine tooth) Pastel Paper is a permanent, lightfast coated paper that withstands all artistic experimentation (can withstand some abuse).

The fine tooth surface onto a heavy-weight Hot Press watercolour paper work well with all media pastels, charcoal, pencil, oils, acrylic, gouache, inks, silverpoint, and even watercolour. The natural toothy surface is ideal for pastels, pencil, or pencils, as it will hold multiple overlays of colour without the need to fix between layers. The absence of fixative allows the velvet bloom and vibrant colour of the pastel to be preserved. (Apply a final light spray of fixative, if desired.)

Art Spectrum Colourfix™ Paper l Sheets

Printed on 300gsm/140lb hot press watercolour paper and with its 20 dense, lightfast colours and fine deep tooth, Colourfix™ is a superb substrate for acrylics, inks, silverpoint, oil pastels, gouache, watercolours and dry media such as soft pastels, charcoal and pencils. The natural toothy surface will hold multiple layers of pastel without needing fixative, allowing the velvet bloom and vibrant colour of the pastel to be preserved. Erasing is also easy with Colourfix™ - lift off excess pastels with clear adhesive tape, brush off with a dampened or dry brush, or use a pencil eraser. Alternatively, errors can be overpainted or areas touched up with the matching colour of Art Spectrum Colourfix™ Primer. The tough, toothy surface can be sanded, scrubbed, soaked and reworked over and over.
